Where do I even begin? I don’t really know. Maybe it’s best that I not say much at all, except that I love you both to the moon and back, and I’m so so grateful God put you both in my life, one by blood, and one just by sheer goodness. Kristin, we all love you, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of our family, even though you mostly already are, we can’t wait for it to be official in just a few short months!
We met in Atlanta a few weeks ago, because Jason and Eli and I were visiting Jason’s family, and Michael and Kristin were in town for a wedding. So it worked out perfectly. Except that it didn’t. There were some complications that morning, and we were trying to beat a STORM, but fortunately, Michael and Kristin are just so good-looking and so in love that it didn’t take long to get some really fabulous shot. And a shout out to another sister-in-law for the awesome location suggestion. Man, I have great family. So now I’ll quit talking….
Come on, October 18…
I met Tim and Ashley over on Clemson’s campus for their engagement session a few weeks ago. Now, I’m the world’s WORST planner. Maybe shouldn’t admit that, but there it is. I like having plans, I really do, it’s just that sometimes time sneaks up on me. Anyways, for all the times I’ve shot in Death Valley, I’ve planned it maybe three times. And that was because brides/grooms/families/etc. knew someone, and THEY did the planning. But it’s always been open. ALWAYS. Well, this time, since it was a Sunday afternoon, and I knew it was really important to this couple, I planned. Ahead of time. I called, I scheduled, and we showed up, and it was LOCKED. Every gate. All around the stadium. I checked. I had to call campus police and BEG someone to come let us in. And they did. But I felt really slack. And really nervous. BUT it was totally worth it. Tim and Ashley were so much fun to be with, and they’re pretty good-looking, to boot. Congrats you two, I can’t wait for your wedding in September!
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your lives!
So I can’t believe I’m posting these pictures on my blog. (Frankly, I can’t believe I’m finally posting on the blog at all…but that’s a story for another day.) Julia was one of our “adopted students” at Clemson. Now, I was a pretty slack ‘mom’ for the most part, but we managed to get together on a fairly regular basis for her last year or so at Clemson. And, as girls do, our conversation tended to occasionally drift to boys, and marriage, and all that good stuff. Sadly, Jeremy went to another school. In another state. I won’t say where. It wasn’t SOUTH Carolina, at least. But, when Julia graduated, she got a job in Charlotte, and shortly after moving, she met Jeremy. Who very kindly offered to take her to lunch…and the rest is history. Julia, I’m SO excited for you both. Jeremy, you were so much fun, and win the award for one of the most laid-back fiancees ever. (If you’ll notice, I had a hard time getting them to just look at me with normal smiles. They would much prefer to be looking at each other, or laughing. And that’s why I’m so in love with these pictures.)
I can’t wait until November!! It’s not as far away as it seems, I promise!
Anthony and Melissa are getting married in Alabama this coming spring, but they came up to God’s country to have a few pictures taken. They, as you will be able to see, are so stinkin happy together. And so stinkin’ cute! Melissa was constantly laughing…and even Anthony was having fun, I think…taking pictures (which most guys aren’t too big on)! Thanks, guys! So glad it worked out to do these! Best of everything in planning for your wedding, and in your life together! I know you’re going to have a wonderfully happy and long life together!
