Welcome to My Blog!
Hi! Welcome to my photography blog! My name is Rebecca Perkins. I grew up in Clemson, and I've been a Tiger since birth. I met my husband and best friend at Clemson, and we've been married now for just over four years. Photography has been a love of mine for years, but I never imagined that I would get to do what I really love for a living. I taught school for three years, and began my business, honestly, as a way to fund my hobby. :) God has tremendously blessed me by allowing me to be a part of people's lives - weddings, births, family, love, relationships - and I am so grateful.
Please take some time to look through my work - I hope you see the joy and love that I seek to capture in each image, and, if I don't already know you, I hope you get to know me a bit through seeing what I love.
As I am the world's MOST indecisive person, the blog will, most likely, be an evolving process for the next little while. It might have been better if I had not had to figure out how to do it all myself, because now I will be tempted to change it too much! Check back often, and, for more information on booking, pricing, and to see more of my work, see my website, www.rebeccaperkinsphotography.com.
Thanks for stopping by!
Rebecca
So I’ve known Lauren since…well, I guess I’m not sure exactly when, but she was a friend of my brother’s in high school. She’s been a faithful fan for a lot of years.
Seriously, it’s really fun as a photographer (and quite humbling, too) to know that people have liked your work for a long time, especially when you look back at the beginning and think, ‘what was I DOING?’ & ‘Did I CHARGE someone for that?’. Because this is a job where you’re ALWAYS growing and changing. Always learning new things. And I love that about my job, but it makes the people who appreciated you in the beginning that much more special. And Lauren and Will are special. They were SO comfortable with each other, and they obviously love each other very much. I love seeing that in my couples and capturing it. It truly is a joy.
Will and Lauren, thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding day, and Lauren, thanks for wanting me to be a part of your day for so long! It really does mean the world to me.
Can’t wait for October 5!

Where do I even begin? I don’t really know. Maybe it’s best that I not say much at all, except that I love you both to the moon and back, and I’m so so grateful God put you both in my life, one by blood, and one just by sheer goodness.
Kristin, we all love you, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of our family, even though you mostly already are, we can’t wait for it to be official in just a few short months!
We met in Atlanta a few weeks ago, because Jason and Eli and I were visiting Jason’s family, and Michael and Kristin were in town for a wedding. So it worked out perfectly. Except that it didn’t. There were some complications that morning, and we were trying to beat a STORM, but fortunately, Michael and Kristin are just so good-looking and so in love that it didn’t take long to get some really fabulous shot. And a shout out to another sister-in-law for the awesome location suggestion. Man, I have great family. So now I’ll quit talking….

Come on, October 18…
I met Tim and Ashley over on Clemson’s campus for their engagement session a few weeks ago. Now, I’m the world’s WORST planner. Maybe shouldn’t admit that, but there it is. I like having plans, I really do, it’s just that sometimes time sneaks up on me. Anyways, for all the times I’ve shot in Death Valley, I’ve planned it maybe three times. And that was because brides/grooms/families/etc. knew someone, and THEY did the planning. But it’s always been open. ALWAYS. Well, this time, since it was a Sunday afternoon, and I knew it was really important to this couple, I planned. Ahead of time. I called, I scheduled, and we showed up, and it was LOCKED. Every gate. All around the stadium. I checked. I had to call campus police and BEG someone to come let us in. And they did. But I felt really slack. And really nervous. BUT it was totally worth it. Tim and Ashley were so much fun to be with, and they’re pretty good-looking, to boot.
Congrats you two, I can’t wait for your wedding in September!

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your lives!

Meet Jay and Monica. They are one of the happiest couples ever. Seriously. They smiled and laughed all day. And it was pretty hot outside. Being 8 months pregnant, I know hot.
They were SO much fun to work with, though, and made my last wedding pre-baby SO enjoyable and laid back. Monica was the epitome of a bride who was just excited to be getting married, and looking forward to enjoying her wedding day!
I loved the detail and colors in the wedding. Monica must REALLY trust her bridesmaids (and with good reason, it seems) – she assigned each a color, and let them choose their own dress. (That they REALLY might wear again!!) I love the way it turned out.
Jay and Monica, thanks for allowing me the privilege of being a part of your day. I truly enjoyed it!

Have I mentioned how I love when couples choose to do a first look? Especially when they choose to do a first look and the light is JUST right.
I LOVE this series. (And I cut it down to 4 from like…10)

I’d never shot a wedding at Grace Dowtown before, but it was so much fun! So many great places to shoot, even on a hot July afternoon. I LOVE this wall, and I love how the white wall makes all the fun colors really pop.

We actually got these after the ceremony, but I cheated and put them in the first blog post. But I can do that, right?

My totally fabulous second shooter, Sabrina, snagged this shot. I love it.

I think maybe that’s enough for one post…Part II {Ceremony and Reception} coming tomorrow….
